Collected here are published — and some unpublished — samples of his work, in print, video, photographs and graphics. It’s also his personal site.
Matarrese got his start reporting at his high school newspaper, only to get sucked in like Michael Corleone. After three years working for his college paper at the University of Portland, he figured he was having such a good time at work he should probably attempt a full-blown career in journalism, so he went to graduate school.
He attended graduate school at the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, where he reported on education issues in Chicago, the Republican Primary in Michigan and on national security issues in Washington, D.C.
Outside of journalism, Andy’s a bit of a movie buff, runner, pianist and serial doodler. He also moonlighted as a wildland firefighter with the United States Forest Service.
Feel free to email him with questions or comments. Enjoy, and thanks for stopping by.
